Charleston Home Sales - May 2010

The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service reported 751 single family detached home sales in May. This was almost a 18.8% increase over April sales.

The average sales price showed a slight increase over April at $277,694 however median price decreased about 1% to $195,816. The average days on market (DOM) decreased to 137 from 109 in April. On average, homes sold for 95% of the list price. For every home sold, 1.6 homes were newly listed.

There are currently 7,052 single family DETACHED homes listed for sale in the Charleston MLS and an additional 2,492 condos and townhomes available. As of June 29, detached homes sales improved about 22.8% over sales for the same time period in 2009.
