Charleston Home Sales - August 2010

The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service reported 550 single family detached home sales in August. This was almost a 4% increase over July sales.

The average sales price showed a slight increase over July at $322,403 and the median price increased about 10% to $219,950. The average days on market (DOM) decreased to 106 from 108 in July. On average, homes sold for 94% of the list price. For every home sold, 2.3 homes were newly listed.

There are currently 6,817 single family DETACHED homes listed for sale in the Charleston MLS and an additional 2,245 condos and townhomes available. As of September 17, detached homes sales improved about 14% over sales for the same time period in 2009.
